You've gained a few pounds during this stay at home period. As someone in the higher risk category (either because of your age or underlying health conditions), even if your gym opens up, you're reluctant to go back for now. You're feeling depressed and/or anxious about this enforced isolation and grieving the loss of "normal, everyday" life. If any of these resonate with you, I can relate! I've been staying fairly active with dancing and outdoor walking, hiking and biking... and I TRY to eat healthy (most of the time). But I'm definitely feeling lonely and isolated a lot of the time... and I have gained a few pounds, despite my best efforts. So, it sounds like we may be in the same boat, yes? Well... Today I chose a new routine. The old one had fallen to the wayside. This told me that it wasnt what I needed at this time. I chose to engage my spirit again through meditation as I had lost my peace. I chose different exercises as my body had grown used to the others. I chose to work on my course. The result: My brain is trying to convince me I need a nap ( I dont) but it's used to the way things have been. My spirit is feeling "aaahhh" (in a stepping into a jacuzzi way). My body just says "good job! Carry on" Do you need to make different choices? Not all illness is related to shallow breathing, however many illnesses can improve by practicing deeper breathing. Learning how to regulate the breath is truly one of the key components to maintaining good health and well-being.
